Manitoba Agricultural Hall of Fame Selection Criteria
Mission Statement
To promote agriculture in Manitoba by revealing the legacy of past and current innovators and by creating an awareness of the significant role of agriculture.
Objective
The objective of the Hall of Fame is to formally and publicly recognize person(s) who in the course of their residence in Manitoba have made outstanding contributions to the improvement of agriculture and the betterment of rural living in the province.
Those nominated will be evaluated on the following criteria:
- Innovative Contributions
- Local/Regional Impact
- Provincial Impact
- National Impact
- International Impact
- Service to Agriculture
- Service to Home Life
- Contribution Beyond Paid Position
- Lasting Influence
Nominations must be substantiated with accompanying letters of endorsement from individuals and organizations with which the individual was involved.

Instructions for Submitting a Nomination
- Contributions should have been made beyond the local level and beyond the nominees paid profession, with the general improvement of the agricultural and rural community on a province-wide basis.
- Submit a full biography of the individual.
(This should include: full name, date and place of birth, ancestry, education, marital status, family, career, personal characteristics, awards/honours and the accomplishments of the nominee.) - A current, quality photograph must be available upon selection.
(A photograph with good contrast will show up best on the copper plaque. Any digital photographs should be a minimum of 300 dpi. The photograph can be returned upon request.) - Nominations must be substantiated with accompanying letters of endorsement.
(These letters should come from individuals and organizations with which the individual was involved and should include knowledge of specific accomplishments of the individual. - All material must be submitted in a typewritten, comprehensive, yet concise and organized fashion.
- Deadline for entries is October 31st of each year.
(The nomination form, accompanied by all letters of endorsement and pertinent information must be postmarked by October 31st for the nomination to be considered in that year.) - Each person inducted into the Hall of Fame will be honoured with an oak-trimmed portrait and citation (plaque) hung in the Gallery of the Manitoba Agricultural Hall of Fame Inc. following an induction ceremony. The nominator will be requested to assist the Hall of Fame in finding sponsorship funding for the cost of the plaque.
